Oral Argument tips

Please do not make these statements during oral argument:

  1.  “Your Honor, that’s a good question.” The remainder of the argument I wonder if you think my other questions were bad questions.
  2. “Your Honor, I’ll address that question later in my presentation.”
  3. “I didn’t try the case below.” Your case is what it is. Do not deflect responsibility on the person who did the hard part.
